My husband was a huge fan of Looney Tunes, 3 Stooges, and DC/Marvel Comics.  95% of his well-worn T-shirts illustrated his fandoms.  When he passed, I was left with 27 or 28 T -shirts and 4 grief-stricken grandchildren.  I found Art by Rhea during a google search – looking for the perfect person to turn 28 T-shirts into 4 quilts for the grandchildren.  The grandchildren received their quilts on the day of their grandfather’s celebration of life and it offered them a tangible piece of him that will live on for many, many years.  Each time they curl up with their quilt, they will be just a bit closer to the grandfather they loved with all their hearts.  Rhea did a couple of things that the kids loved… some of the shirts were spread out between the quilts so they all shared certain pieces together.  Rhea approached the work with love – mending well-worn shirts to make sure they quilts would last a long time.   Rhea’s work was phenomenal.  Rhea also took one of the shirts and created a teddy bear for me.  It was a hit amongst my husbands’ friends who recognized the shirt that he wore on special occasions when playing euchre, poker, or coming home from a long stay in the hospital.  Thank you, Rhea, for being a positive influence in a really tough time.

A bit longish, but necessary.  Thank you for you.   (September 2022)
