Officer Bear Donated to Police Department
From Edina Police Department on 10/4/2023: Dear Rhea, On behalf of the Edina Police Department and our consortium partners, I would like to thank you for your generous donation of the patch bear to help with DJ Daniels’ visit to Minnesota. As you know, DJ is an 11-year-old from Texas who is battling terminal brain and spine cancer. He has made it his mission to become an honorary police officer in as many departments as possible and we wanted to make that happen along with the Eden Prairie, Hopkins, Minnetonka and St. Louis Park Police Departments. Our five communities worked together to collectively host DJ and his family in the southwest metro for three days at the end of August which included a joint swearing in ceremony, tours of each department, ride-alongs with officers, police equipment demonstrations, a State at the Mall of America and a fishing trip with officers. Art by Rhea’s generous contribution helped make these activities happen.

Bridal Gowns Repurposed
ANGEL GOWNS
This project was done as a donation, so I don’t have pricing on these items. I included them in this gallery so that you could see my work with a bridal gown. The boy outfits with vests, I designed using my teddy bear pattern. That illustrates how tiny and intricate these pieces are. It is precise, time consuming work to dismantle a bridal gown and create small items from it. I charge by the hour and keep careful track of time spent. My rate is $18 per hour. It all depends on what decoratives are sewed onto the piece, whether it is a bear, quilt, pillow, or other item. (These are all items that could be made from a gown.)

Get a stuffed animal for your favorite kid of any age: I make bears, monkeys, lambs, turtles, and rabbits. I create two different styles of quilts and pillows. I also sew jammies and scrubs.
